Tariffs/Duty
With the latest 34% tariff on Chinese products coming into effect on the first week of April on top of the previous tariffs we would like to show to our customers the impact of tariffs and how they will impact our prices.
Duty/Tariffs for the last 7 years or so up to end of January 2025:
50 dollar pack at our cost from China has the following charges on import: 3.4% Duty , 7.5% tariff and 2.8% Merchandise processing fee which is charged by the government.
50 + 3.4%: 1.70
50 + 7.5%: 3.75
50 + 2.8%: 1.40
Shipping: 2.50 and we expect shipping to possibly increase.
Landed cost after duty/tariffs and shipping charges is 59.35
Same 50 dollar pack in March which had 3.4% duty , 7.5% , 20% tariff and 2.8% merchandise processing fee increases the price 69.35
Same 50 dollar pack starting on the second week of April will now have 3.4% duty , 7.5% , 20% , 34% tariff and 2.8% merchandise processing fee increases the price to 86.35.
April 8th update: Seems like now there will be an extra 50% tariff on China so this will equate to 3.4% duty , 20% , 34% , 50% tariff and 2.8% merchandise processing fee which now makes a pack we pay 50 dollars to the factory in China cost us 111.35
We will try and absorb some of the extra costs due to the new tariffs but we have no choice to increase our prices on shipments that will come in with new tariffs in place. With this latest tariff news from the 8th of April we are not sure how much we will need to increase our pricing by at this time. We will wait until we get an actual customs invoice.
